Judy Naiberg

Senior Vice President, Legal

Rogers Communications

As the Senior Vice President of the legal department at Rogers Communications, Judy oversees a wide variety of legal matters for Rogers’ wireless, internet and cable businesses, along with its media business, which is home many of Canada’s favourite brands including Sportsnet, CityTV, CHFI, Today’s Shopping Choice and the Toronto Blue Jays.

Prior to joining Rogers in 2018, Judy ran the Legal and Business Affairs department of Sony Music Canada where she spent nearly 20 years developing and executing company strategy to navigate the challenges that the digital revolution posed to the music industry. During her tenure, Judy worked closely with a variety of stakeholders both in Canada and abroad to advocate for copyright reform on behalf of artists, songwriters and musicians and those who support them.

Judy began her career at McCarthy Tétrault where she articled and practiced litigation for five years, focusing on professional malpractice, employment, defamation and commercial disputes.

Throughout her career, Judy has found opportunities to contribute to the legal community, particularly through mentorship. She is a founding member of the Women’s General Counsel of Canada, an education and networking group dedicated to addressing challenges faced by many women in in-house legal roles and to helping advance their careers. Judy also created the Intensive In-House Counsel Workshop for the Law Society’s Law Practice Program and has co-led the program for 10 years running. When she’s not mentoring others, she herself is being coached by her three kids and two-year-old cockapoo.
